A Cleveland, Ohio native, Gabrielle draws from a variety of distinctive styles to create a musical experience. She comes from an interesting background. The child of an American mother and Nigerian father, she was raised between the United States and Costa Rica, studied the flute in Italy with Raffaeli Trevisani and later at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance with Israeli flautist Noam Buchman. Her artistic style stems from many influences including jazz, gospel, classical, African drums, Latin, Brazilian, and Middle Eastern.
Gabrielle loves sharing her passion for improvisation, as well as music with a story, with audiences across the globe. She has collaborated with musicians from Panama to Bali, Indonesia and as far as Tokyo, Japan with a variety of different groups from Latin jazz to new experimental music featuring flute, didgeridoo and djembe.
Her concerts touch the heart with nostalgia, breathe a new flair on the classics and reveal expressive depth with compositions she has been working on for years.
A great concert will tell you a story about music you already know, introduce you to new found treasures and show you things that you didn’t know existed inspiring a renewed appreciation for life and all its mysteries.
